Disneyland Park

A world of fantasy, adventure, and futurism awaits at Disneyland Park Anaheim CA. Here you’ll find classic attractions that send you whirling in teacups, a land where Winnie the Pooh strolls, and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge—the park’s most recent addition.

Outside the parks, the Downtown Disney District offers name-brand boutiques and quirky eateries. You can return to our home page.

Get There

A visit to Disneyland is a must for anyone traveling to Southern California. The first theme park created by Disney and the only one designed and built under Walt Disney’s direct supervision, Disneyland is a collection of adventures, rides, and shows that symbolically represent various aspects of American culture.

The easiest way to get to the Disneyland Resort is by car. It’s a 35-55 minute drive without traffic, but it can be longer during rush hour times. During these times, public transportation or ride-share services may be more convenient and affordable options.

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) offers bus service to Disneyland Park, including routes 43 and 543. Board at Fullerton ARTIC Station and disembark at Harbor-East Shuttle Area in Anaheim. Then, it’s a 45-minute walk to Disneyland. For more information about getting to Disneyland with OCTA, click here. If you’re driving, make sure to check traffic reports before heading out on your trip.

Theme Park Attractions

Channel your inner child at Disneyland, which offers the perfect balance of nostalgia and whimsy with low-intensity rides like Dumbo and it’s a small world. You’ll also find new offerings that immerse you in the world of Star Wars.

This pioneering theme park — the first to be designed and built under Walt Disney’s direct supervision — is made up of nine distinctly themed “lands.” Wander down Main Street, U.S.A. for a step back in time, or head to Adventureland for an exploration of the jungle. You’ll even get to see what the future might look like in Tomorrowland, where Walt Disney was a true visionary.

Mickey’s Toontown has classic cartoon themes that are great for toddlers, while Frontierland takes you on a wild ride into the Wild West. And the newest addition, 2023’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, takes you into the heart of this sci-fi universe. There are also plenty of character meet-and-greets, but if your little one is shy, it’s best to let them wave from afar rather than approach. Explore more!

Food & Drink

Known as the happiest place on Earth, Disneyland is also home to a surprisingly impressive culinary program. From award-winning wines to whimsical pastries and freshly made pasta, this Southern California theme park has something for every palate and dietary restriction.

There are plenty of sit-down options to choose from, but if you’re looking for quick and easy food on the go (as well as drinks), the best places to eat at Disneyland include the Blue Bayou Restaurant, where kids can meet costumed characters over Mickey waffles, or the intergalactic cantina of Oga’s.

On the snack front, Refreshment Corner might be best known as the 7-Eleven of Main Street, but don’t pass up a sweet and spicy jalapeno cream cheese stuffed pretzel. It’s the perfect mate to a couple of rounds of Hippopoto Mai Tais or Krakatoa Punch.

Hotels & Lodging

For families that plan to spend a lot of time at Disneyland, staying on the property can be worth the extra cost, especially for benefits like early park entry. But many hotels have set up shop right around the corner from the theme parks, and most offer better value.

The best of the bunch, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, is a beautiful craftsman-style hotel with some seriously impressive details. It’s also the closest hotel to the parks and has a private entrance to Disney California Adventure.

Other on-property choices are the Disneyland Hotel and the former Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, which is currently undergoing a transformation into the Pixar Place Hotel. These hotels are generally priced higher than off-site options, but they’re a great choice for those who want to be just a few steps from the magic. Next article.
